Jonathan Wells on the Cell as an “Agent”

Using the new Superman movie, Man of Steel, as a news hook, with its fantasy theme of cellular/DNA manipulation, our friend David Boze had a fascinating conversation with Discovery Institute biologist Jonathan Wells about the cell. It’s a podcast from Intelligent Design the Future.
Do yourself a favor and listen. You can’t be reminded often enough that DNA doesn’t simply determine who we are, that there are other sources of information in the cell, that to say that information is the basis of life, or to compare the cell to a computer, leaves a lot out. As Boze and Wells discuss, the cell is in a sense both a computer and the operator of the computer — an active “agent” unto itself.
